Hungary Forward Suffers Fractured Cheekbone

VARGA INJURED IN CLASH WITH SCOTTISH GOALKEEPER

Hungary forward Barnabás Varga is in stable condition in hospital after suffering a fractured cheekbone in a mid-air clash with Scotland goalkeeper Angus Gunn. The incident occurred during Hungary's 1-0 victory over Scotland in a Euro 2024 qualifying match on Sunday. Varga was carried off on a stretcher after the collision and taken to hospital for treatment.

Hungary manager Marco Rossi said after the match that Varga is "stable" and that the injury is "not as serious as it looked." Varga is expected to miss the remainder of Hungary's Euro 2024 qualifying campaign, but he is expected to make a full recovery.

Hungary's win over Scotland moved them into second place in Group C, behind leaders Slovakia. Hungary will now face Slovakia in a crucial match on October 12th.
